Our Story
At Side by Side Bookkeeping, we believe business owners deserve more than just a service—they deserve support they can truly rely on.
We’re Stephanie Moran and Josh Alvarez, and we built this business with a genuine care for the people we work with. Coming from entrepreneurial families, we’ve seen firsthand how much goes into running a business and how easy it is for things to feel overwhelming.
Stephanie built her foundation in bookkeeping at an accounting firm, learning from incredible supervisors whose guidance shaped the way we approach our work today. She later worked closely with a general contractor who became like family—giving her the opportunity to grow and gain real, day-to-day experience in the operations of a construction business.
Josh brings a strong sense of structure and problem-solving from his background in the U.S. Army intelligence community, along with his interest in technology and business. Together, we bring a balance of practical experience and a forward-thinking approach.
We created Side by Side Bookkeeping to offer the kind of steady, thoughtful support we wish our own families had when running their businesses.
Outside of work, we’re usually chasing after our two golden retrievers, who make sure life never gets too quiet.
